First Disneyland Post: http://bentrishafamily.blogspot.com/2016/03/adventures-in-disneyland.html
We decided to take a day trip to Disneyland mid week to surprise the kids. It took us about two hours to get from Palm Desert to Anaheim and 2.5 hours from Anaheim back to Palm Desert. The kids had no clue where we were going and it was really hard for me not to tell them during the car ride there!
I enjoyed taking in all the scenery during the drive. I normally despise long car rides and get super antsy but actually enjoyed myself on the way to Anaheim. The desert is so different than what I'm used to in Minnesota.
The highway was cut through the mountains!
Hitting some LA traffic. Thank goodness I wasn't in the drivers seat. I have a strong anxiety of driving in bigger cities and I'm not sure that I could've managed this without an anxiety attack.
The kids checking everything out and wondering where we are going!
We made it!
Once the kiddos saw all the Disney characters on the parking signs they realized where we were!
On the tram from the parking garage to the park
in the park!
We went to a 30 minute performance of Frozen. The kiddos were able to sit right up front and really enjoyed the show. Ben and I loved it as well!
Waiting for the show to start!
Singing Let it Go at the end!
Chelsea is one happy little girl!
Chelsea with Snow White!
Cinderella!
Belle!
Tyler couldn't resist Belle's charms and jumped in for a picture with her!
Merida telling Chelsea that she loves her curly hair! Merida was my favorite princess :)
ToonTown!
Lunch time!
Mickey's house!
After walking through Mickey's house we had to stand in a line to meet Mickey. Chelsea, being the best big sister, would lift Tyler up so he could see the movie playing in the front of the room!
Tyler was really shy around Mickey
Chelsea really enjoyed meeting Mickey!
Donald!
Daisy!
More hugs!
After about 5 hours at the park Tyler made it apparent that it was time to head out. Tyler still regularly takes a mid day nap so we were happy to have been able to stay as long as we did since the park doesn't open until 10am.
On the way out we let the kids shop for a couple items to take home. Chelsea picked out an Ariel pen, mouse ears nd a sucker. Tyler picked out Diecast Cars and a sucker. The kiddos were in heaven!
On the tram back to the parking ramp.
The kiddos passed out within five minutes of getting into the car. This picture is worth a thousand words!
More scenery shots I took through the car window.
Here is a video of the kiddos talking in the car after they woke up from their naps. Unfortunately the video is completely dark but it's fun to hear them talk about Disney.
We stopped at a restaurant called Burgers and Beer in Palm Desert before going back to our room. The menu is huge and there are TV's in the booths. The TV was awesome to have. Ben and I had a fairly relaxing meal because of it!
The Mouse ears were a hot commodity!
Chelsea was very excited when she won this ball on the way out of the restaurant! She started jumping up and down and shrieking very loudly.
Tylers turn!
We played a couple more times!
Tyler checking out his new cars!
Chelsea testing out her Ariel pen!
We had a wonderful day trip to Disney, but I was exhausted by the time the kiddos went to bed. I poured a bath and a captain and relaxed with a book to finish up the day. Who says banana scented Minion Bath Bubbles are for kids only?!
