Christmas Eve!

Barry and Jane stayed with us for a few days over Christmas.  They live in California so it's always great to be able to spend quality time with them.  Steve was also able to spend the holidays with us! The kids love all the extra attention and mommy loves all the extra help!

The kids were starting to feel better by Christmas Eve but I was very sick.  Even though I was feeling horrible, I still enjoyed the holiday celebrations and our company.  With all the extra help I was able to lay low, take nightly baths and go to bed early.  It was just what the doctor ordered! I am finally feeling 100% and knocking on wood that the entire family stays healthy for a great long while!

We put Chelsea's very special bracelet (from Grandma and Grandpa Loveland) on her for church.

A before church photo!

This SHOULD have been a family photo :(  I did not want to ruin this photo because I looked worse than I felt, and I felt pretty awful!  Unfortunately I did not make it to our church service.  Instead I tried to relax a bit, shower and downed some Dayquil.

Time for presents!

Our stockings!

Some yummy app's to graze on while we opened presents.

Cheese!

Tyler was interested in doing ANYTHING besides open presents.  He has absolutely no interest in presents yet.  That is a great thing for Chelsea because she loves to open presents.  She got to open all of Tyler's this year for him!

A princess story book!

Clothes!

Boots!  It's pretty obvious how much she loves these!

Tinkerbell!

Great Grandma and Grandpa Fisher sent some gifts for the kiddos to open.  Here is Tyler checking out his gift.  It's a really cool truck, boat, trailer, jet ski toy!  what an awesome gift!

Chelsea opening one of her presents from grandma and grandpa fisher.  A furreal kitty!  She carried this kitty around non stop for the rest of the day.

At first she named her kitty "cute bunny".  We were all a little confused and speechless when she proclaimed the name.  I asked her again a few days later and she has now changed the kitty's name to Tiana.  Much better!

Boy toys!

Chelsea opening her gift from Great Grandma and Grandpa Fisher.  A realistic toy vacuum!!!  Both kiddos immediately started playing with it.

Grandma and Grandpa Fisher spoiled Chelsea with lots and lots of play kitchen supplies.  One of the kiddos favorite toys to play with is the play kitchen.  Now we are fully stocked up!

Tyler eating one of Great Grandma Sandvig's kringla cookies. One of the only sweets he will eat!

Grandma and Grandpa Fisher gave Tyler a trampoline!!!  This trampoline is going to see hours upon hours of use this winter!

vacuuming!

Tyler went to bed and we started making dinner.  Ben and Barry grilled us steaks outside.  Unfortunately it was a very windy, and cold night.  Fortunately, the steaks tasted wonderful!

Christmas in Humboldt!

We drove down to Humboldt, Iowa to spend the weekend before Christmas with Ben's Grandma Del.  Tyler and I were unable to make the trip to Iowa last year since Tyler was a newborn so I was really looking forward to this trip.

Unfortunately both Tyler and Chelsea were sick for our stay and I was coming down with a pretty nasty cold.  Tyler had just started a round of antibiotics for an ear infection and was also using a nebulizer  a few times a day to help with his chest congestion.  We knew Chelsea was sick, but didn't realize how sick.  She woke up overnight (which is unheard of for her!) the night we got home complaining that her ear hurt.  She, ALSO, had an ear infection!  With that said, the kids were troopers.  There were a couple meltdowns and cranky periods but all in all, they had a great time.

Chelsea snuggling up to Steve while checking out Uncle Doug

Both mama and Chelsea were under the weather.  Snuggling on the couch made us both feel a little better :)

It's hard to take a nap with the kids around!  I think they both were curious on why mama was actually laying on the couch for once.

Chelsea and Tyler hanging out with Lili!

Aunt Julie brought Chelsea some of Lili and Luci's hand me downs that they have grown out of. Chelsea was very excited about this Barbie dress up gown!

Aunt Julie also brought Chelsea a glow in the dark Barbie Sleeping bag!

She insisted on wearing her gown immediately

Lili playing the piano with Chelsea

Lili is great with kids and helped us out A LOT with Tyler.  Since he was under the weather he preferred to be snuggled and Lili was happy to snuggle him.

Jon and Shanna.  They moved to Denver a few months back so it was great that they were able to make the trip back for the holidays.

Time to hand out presents!

A big stuffed Monkey!  He LOVES stuffed animals!

Daddy trying to get Chelsea to open her presents.  She wanted nothing to do with it.  This must have been when she was feeling pretty sick :(  Looking back on the weekend, I'm guessing she had her ear infection at this time as well.

All Chelsea needed was a bit of daddy snuggle time

more presents!
