Very active happy girl this morning!

some pictures of Chelsea exercising this morning!  She is so incredibly active as of late an moves around continuously while awake.  I held a big toy above her today and she reached out and grabbed and held it with both hands!  I didn't think she'd be able to hold this bulky of a toy yet but she proved me wrong!!!!  She's also been discovering her feet.  She can grab both feet with her hands at the same time.  Our little girl is growing up so fast...

Also - I hope you all had a chance to watch the Royal wedding!  I felt that it was such an amazing event.  William and Kate are such a beautiful couple and I hope they last!! :-)

Chelsea's new friend Teagan!

Chelsea and I had a wonderful day!  My best friend from college is in town (Josette lives in CO now) for the weekend and brought her infant Teagan over to my house today for a visit.  Her baby is only 3 weeks older than Chelsea.  It was so cute to lay the babes next to each other.  Chelsea even grabbed onto Teagan's shirt for a little bit.  Both Chelsea and I are wishing they still lived here so the girls could grow up together.  We will just have to make an effort to get together when we are able.  Thinking back to being roommates in college... little did we know back then that we'd have babies at the same time and be moms someday!

Facebook hurting or helping the social life????

Starting tomorrow I am running a "test" for myself and not going to be Facebook Active for two weeks.  I love Facebook because it's so easy to see what people are up to, let others know what you are up to and so on.  BUT - I am also torn because I think Facebook actually secludes a person.  I think it's SO easy for people / friends to see what you are up to that a person never gets personal phone calls or emails anymore.  It's been a long time since I've received a personal communication asking how I am, Chelsea is, what I've been up to, etc.  I am guilty on this issue as well... I see what people are up to and don't make an effort to get ahold of someone to touch base.  Phone calls are very difficult for me as well, unless you catch me driving or during Chelsea's naptime.  I KNOW people care and are following me / us, because when I see friends they will say they saw a status update on facebook and want to talk about it.  I am just not AWARE that people care unless I see them.  That probably makes no sense, but hard to put into words.

I will continue posting on my blog for these two weeks.  I love this blog... it's so great for long distance friends and family to stay updated in our lives and to see Chelsea grow!  I am just not so sure that Facebook is a great avenue for someone, like me, who needs more personal interaction :-)

Hope everyone has a happy Thursday !!!!

HAPPY EASTER!

Today we celebrated Easter at Joel and Jillian's house in Alexandria.  We had a lot of fun with family and all the kiddos running around.  We are discovering that holidays are so much more joyful with a houseful of kids.  Joel and Jillian planned a fun sugar filled Easter Egg hunt for my nieces and had lots of tasty food for us as well.  Hopefully Chelsea will be able to participate in an Easter egg hunt next year!

Unfortunately our drive home wasn't as fun.  Chelsea is still battling her cold and her digestion is a little too good right now.  Instead of sleeping during the entire drive (like normal) she was extremely fussy for most of it.  We stopped once to feed and change her.  Unfortunately not a whole lot was open on Easter so we had to feed and change her diaper in the parking lot of Casey's Gas Station.  We got back on the road and she was still fuss fuss.  SO - we stopped at a rest stop about ten miles past our first stop.  She ate a little more and we had to change her once again.  She fell asleep for about thirty minutes and we thought we were in the clear.  She ended up waking up fussing big time while we were stuck in traffic on 94.  Traffic was so backed up and we had no choice but to just sit there and listen to her complaining.  I climbed in the back seat and tried to entertain her.  It worked for about ten minutes but then she decided that all she wanted was to cry until she could be "let out" of the carseat.  3.5 hours after leaving Joel and Jillian's house we breathed a sigh of relief and pulled into the garage.  Baby girl is now in bed and both Ben and I have a cocktail :-)

Happy 3 months to Chelsea!

It's my baby girl's 3 month birthday today!  Unfortunately we haven't even thought about taking pictures yet because she is sick and mom is sick :(  We took her to the doctor today and she has been diagnosed with her first cold.  It's a virus and we have to let it run it's course.  She does have eye drops that we have to medicate her with twice a day for 5 days.  We also bought her a humidifier for her room.  My princess is sleeping at this moment and I hope she sleeps well tonight.  It breaks my heart to see her crying and stuffy and uncomfortable :(

I have been battling some sort of stomach problem for the past four weeks.  I blew it off at first as eating the wrong thing or having a lactose intolerance.  I will get severe stomach pains out of the blue that lasts hours... no fun.   But now I am thinking it may be something more.  I will call my doctor on Monday and get an appointment and hopefully nip this in the butt.  We should get around to taking her 3 month pictures in the next few days and will post them as soon as we do.  Tomorrow we are going to Alexandria to celebrate Easter with my family and I really hope Chelsea is feeling up to the trip!

Yum Yum! My new toy!

I just received my new coffee maker today!  I usually make a pot of coffee in the morning but end up wasting at least half the pot.  I also like different types of coffee than Ben does.  So we bought the following coffee maker that makes only one cup at a time.  I love it so far!

Of course I can't post a blog without a few Chelsea pictures!!!!

California Girl

Baby Girl is at daycare right now and I'm trying to get lots of odds and ends done.  I had a huge list to accomplish today, but some of it is just not going to happen.  I've already been to the dentist, ran 3 errands, put dinner (turkey chili!) in the crockpot, cleaned some of the house and am now waiting for the Aero Blinds lady to get here.  We are going to purchase blinds for the door that will be leading to our deck (being built within the next three weeks) and blinds for arond our front door.  It will be nice to have some sort of window treatment around the front door for some privacy and so the dogs don't keep barking so much when people walk or drive by our house.  After the appointment I'm going to go to the health club to workout, sit in the hot tub and to check out the infant daycare.  Chelsea turns 3 months on Saturday so I can start dropping her off at the daycare in the healthclub while I work out!

We were in California visiting Barry and Jane from last Thursday thru Sunday.  Chelsea behaved very well out there.  It was great for Grandma and Grandpa Fisher to get some quality time with Chelsea.  We hung out at home, went to the folsom zoo (sanctuary), went out to eat and attended a party thrown in Chelsea's honor at Rob and Jen's house.  Rob and Jen are neighbors / friends of Barry and Jane and it was so thoughtful of them to invite other neighbors and friends over to meet her!  We really enjoyed our time in Folsom and are wishing we could visit more often.

I only have 10 minutes to spare until the blinds lady gets here so it's time to post the pictures.

Mirrors and Airplanes!

Ben and I are out in Folsom California for the weekend visiting Barry and Jane (Grandma and Grandpa Fisher).  We were both very nervous about the flight out and literally lost sleep the night before.  There was no reason for us to be worried because she flew wonderfully.  We had NO issues what so ever with her.  She played with her toys, ate and slept the entire flight.  Having lots of room (we flew first class) and bringing her boppy pillow with really helped out.  Our perfect little angel was so perfect :)

We also hit two more major milestones this past week with Chelsea.  She discovered herself in the mirror on her playmat!  I caught her checking herself out for a good five minutes!  I'm sure she was thinking "who's this blonde cutie in the mirror"???  She also slept thru the night two nights in a row.  Not a short 6 hour sleeping thu the night sleep but a 9PM until 7AM sleep thru the night!  Knock on wood this continues!

I am going to wrap up this blog since we are on vacation out in CA at the moment, but wanted to get her pictures posted for Chelsea's loyal followers!!! :)
