Here are some pictures of Chelsea that I took today. I was trying to get just one picture of her smiling at the camera, but that did not happen. She hasn't been very photogenic these days :(
One of these days we'll capture some current pictures that show her personality well! Ben and I are going to try and get some good pictures of her up at Blue Fin Bay this weekend. Wish us luck!

Little Mermaid Mural in Chelsea's new room!
Since we are going to keep the nursery as is for baby boy fisher we are going to move Chelsea into a big girl room downstairs. Since she is too young to tell us how she wants her room decorated we had to guess on what she'd like. She loves swimming, fish, and squeals with delight every time I take her past underwater world in the MOA. We were worried that an underwater theme would be too 'boy like' so bought a mural of the little mermaid to 'girl up' the room a bit.
Ben painted the room yesterday and then we put up the mural today. The room is looking fantastic!!! After I post this blog I'm going to go down and vacuum and carpet clean the room. Once that is done I'll work on transferring her stuff from the nursery to the new room and we'll get her transitioned in there ASAP.
We bought a twin bed for her but to make the transition easier we are going to put her in the pack and play for a little bit so she can get used to her new surroundings. Once she is used to her room we'll put the mattress on the floor and then hopefully get her into the bed frame ASAP. Sometimes I think it would have been easier to buy another crib to keep her in for awhile, but the last thing we wanted to do was to spend money on another crib.

27 weeks!
I am now in my 27th week of pregnancy! Only 12 more weeks before Baby Boy Fisher makes his appearance! I don't have a doctors appointment until next week, but thought I'd post some belly shots since I haven't taken any for about a month now.
Medically everything is going strong with the pregnancy. Physically is another story. Thank goodness I have a pretty high pain tolerance because this time around I have had many more aches and pains. Heartburn has made it's self very known and I'm very 'heavy' feeling. By heavy I mean I am moving very slow, it's hard to find clothes that are actually comfortable around my midsection because I'm carrying so low, am having a hard time carrying Chelsea around and daily walks are my most active form of exercise. I blame my short torso for these 'issues' :-) Chelsea was a very big baby (9 pounds 8 ounces) so I'm guessing this one is trending that big as well...
My stomach is VERY finicky as well. I feel like I have to constantly think about what I put in my body and cross my fingers that it won't make me sick. I feel like I should be 37 weeks pregnant, not 27. With all that said.... IT COULD BE WORSE. I know that. I thank God that my body is still able to function, i can still take care of Chelsea during the days on my own and I am not worrying about being put on bedrest due to medical issues with the pregnancy. I will update more 'medical' information after my 28 week doctor's appointment.
On the lighter side, I've been craving dark meat chicken (particularly legs) and potatoes of any sort non stop the past three days. That is all I want and the cravings are consuming me! I've had some minor cravings during this pregnancy but nothing like this. Baby boy must love him some chicken and potatoes or there are some vital nutrients that my body needs right now in those food items. I had two grilled drumsticks for lunch and have been thinking about finding a KFC around maple grove for dinner. Poor Ben and Chelsea... If I serve them one more meal of chicken I have a feeling I may have some plates thrown back at me :)

State Fair!!
We took Chelsea to the Minnesota State Fair today! Since we did not bring her last year, this was her first fair experience and we all had a great time! It's amazing how much more fun the fair was for me now that I have a toddler to share the experience with.
We didn't want to lug the big camera around with us so I snapped pictures with my phone. They turned out pretty good. I'm going to write about our day within the picture postings.
I was nervous that it would be extremely busy since it is the first weekend day of the fair so we got up early and left the house at 8. We were at the fair by 9am and it wasn't very crowded at all! Since we walked in by the miracle of birth center we started out with visiting the animals. There was a cow in the center ring with two handlers that looked about ready to give birth. Unfortunately she wasn't quite ready so we did not get to witness the event. Upon speaking to one of the handlers we found out that she would give birth at some point today.
Onto the food! It was only 10:30 in the morning but we figured it was time to 'strap on the feed bags' ! The only food I really wanted was french fries. We ran into the booth right away so that is what we started with. We ordered a small, which was PLENTY big. I couldn't believe how many people were ordering the huge containers. How can anyone, even sharing, eat a huge bucket of fries plus the other fair foods on top of it?? My stomach just turns thinking about it.

A calf that was born yesterday! We couldn't believe he could be out on 'display' and pet and away from his mom so quickly.
A lamb that chelsea loved
Chelsea LOVES animals. She is a girl after my own heart :-)
Chelsea and her new friend trying to get to the calf
She was mesmerized by the baby chickens
Chicks hatching.. makes you think twice about eating that egg this morning, huh?!
Chelsea clapping and excited about seeing the sheep
She loved this guy
We were very proud of Chelsea when she kept looking at this horse and saying "neigh" !
Hi!

Chelsea always loves fries. I think she was thinking JACKPOT all day today with lots of greasy food before noon :)
After eating out fries we went to the DNR pond. The fish pond has always been one of Ben and my favorite attractions. I could sit there all day watching the fish. My favorite are the Lake Sturgeon...
Now, back to the food :) Ben's first fair food that he ordered was a pronto pup. He offered Chelsea some and she crinkled her nose and moved away from it! Little did she know what she was turning down!
So Ben broke off part of the pronto pup and put it on her stroller tray. She still tried moving away from it like she wanted nothing to do with it. In the meantime, Ben was finishing it off not thinking she'd want anymore.
Still deciding....
YUM! Finally she understood how yummy it is! Unfortunately that is the only bite she got, but there was plenty more food to be had.
We wandered down to the pet center to go look at the dog booths. I love seeing the dogs / breeders / rescue organizations and Chelsea loves all dogs as well. She did very well petting the dogs and said hi & bye bye to all the breeders. It was really cute. I didn't take any pictures in the building, but here we are afterwards.
More food! Ben wanted an Elk Burger and couldn't resist buying a kids meal of chicken, fries, juice and dessert for only $1.75. Unfortunately the chicken in the kids meal was very questionable, the juice was a very unnatural blue color and I wasn't exactly sure what the cookie / pastry dessert was. This was, hands down, the most processed meal we have ever fed her. BUT... she enjoyed it and that is all that mattered today :)
A lot of food for $1.75... but check out those chicken rings?? I haven't ever seen anything like it.
She ate up bites of the elk burger right away. Yummy!
Feeling fat and happy we took a break at a little kid area. Park Nicollet and a radio station (I forgot which one) sponsered a toddler play area and lactation tent. What a great idea!
We started walking back towards the exit since we were on the very far end of the fairgrounds. We ran into another toddler area that chelsea could run around in and explore. We were very happy with the amount of FREE events and activities for kids her age.
Chelsea decided to run over to a tent with merchandise and pop a squat right in front of it. Apparantly all that food that went in had to come out at that very moment! It was really funny just standing there for a couple minutes letting her do her business in a busy area.
After a diaper change she zonked out cold! What a big day! Unfortunately at this time it started raining and we were a long ways away from the entrance. Of course, our umbrella and blanket that I was going to pack was left behind :( So we had to cover her up with the stroller top, her extra outfit that was packed and we booked it across the fairgrounds. I was a very unhappy cold very pregnant woman (in a white tank top on top of it all) trying to dodge through the croud to our shuttle. Thank goodness we had such a fabulous day up until this point.
Once we got to the shuttle I took Chelsea out of the stroller and tried to keep her asleep by having her lay on me. of course it didn't work and she woke up right away :( She ended up staying awake for the ride home and luckily wasn't too crabby.
