Walk - Run for Ovarian Cancer

Ben's mother, Jane, was diagnosed with Stage 3C Ovarian Cancer a little over a year ago.  This diagnosis came as a complete shock to everyone and turned several worlds upside down.  We knew very little about ovarian cancer so started researching immediately.  Almost every bit of information we read, the word "silent" was connected to this awful disease.  It is a tough cancer to catch in the early stages and public awareness isn't high.

Ben found out about an Ovarian Cancer walk in Edina Minnesota and immediately signed up our family to participate.  He then raised over $600!!!  We participated in the walk this past Saturday and enjoyed it tremendously.  There were so many survivors and supporters participating in the walk and it is really hard to put into words the emotions both Ben and I went through observing and talking with participants.  We both wanted to reach out and hug Jane immediately.  Unfortunately Jane was not able to attend the walk because she was in California recovering from a surgery related to her Ovarian Cancer.  Next year she will be there with us wearing the bright green survivor TShirt!

Beautiful!

We found someone to take a picture with the four of us!

There was a playground in the area.  We let the kids burn some energy before the walk started!

Tyler had fun!

My teal shoe laces!

Look at all the supporters!

Ready to start walking!

The pictures are slightly out of order.  Another playground picture!

Another picture of the crowd

Chelsea wanted to get out of the stroller and walk for Grandma!  She wanted to do it on her own and not hold daddy's hand.

Chelsea still walking for Grandma!

The runners completed a 5K and us walkers completed a 2K.  This picture was taken while we were crossing the finish line!

Chelsea was still full of evergy after we finished walking!
