Ever since we took advantage (before kids!) of a kayaking excursion at Blue Fin Bay I've been wanting a kayak of my own. Up until now I feel as if it hasn't been a logical purchase because of having to be so hands on with the kids at all times. Now that the kids are getting older I feel as if a kayak is a logical purchase. It's so nice to have a way to be active at the cabin while having some peace and quiet on the lake on my own. Kayaking is very peaceful escape in a very hectic life.

Mina is getting older and has been showing her age more and more. We've been trying to include her in more of our outings and activities. She seems to really like the boat!
Boating time!
I took the kiddos on some errands and lunch in Alex to give Ben and Steve some time to get some work done (AKA relaxing, playing horseshoes and cracking a beer). We went to Doolittles for lunch and I was very impressed with the menu. The kids received huge portions (which we took home for their dinner!) and lots of fruit. We will definitely go back.
Steve can't go anywhere without Tyler following him!

We went with my family for a nice Father's Day lunch before we left for home.
I bought a slip and slide for the kiddos to enjoy this summer. They love it! Here's Ben setting it up for the first time!
Enjoying a backyard ice tea, grazing session, slip and slide afternoon!

The kiddos and I were invited to go with friends on Lake Minnetonka on the first official day of summer. It was a very nice, peaceful retreat.
