We went to Naples, Florida a couple weeks ago as a family. We went with zero set plans. Our only plan was to enjoy the 80 degree weather! We flew out on a Friday morning and came back on a Tuesday morning. I was wishing for one or two more days, but we took full advantage of the time we had.
We took a bunch of pictures on the camera, but also took a lot with our phones. This blog will show tid bits of the entire vacation with the pictures we took on our phones.
I just noticed my pictures are already out of order, so bear with me. I downloaded all Ben's pictures first and then mine and am too lazy to sit and switch them into a logical order :)
We flew out at 7:30AM so had to leave our house around 5. Needless to say it was an early morning and we had our hands full on the plane.
Tyler was pretty lazy for a small part of the flight :-)
Chelsea loved using her headphones while playing with her leap pad. She did GREAT on each of the flights!
We had to rent a mini van to fit all of our stuff. It was our first time driving around in a mini van and I do have to say, it wasn't bad. But, NO, will not be buying one ;)
Daddy and Chelsea selfie!
Strappin on the feed bag!
Unfortunately, we had to stop at Wendy's one day for lunch. We thought the kiddos had eaten plenty of food during an activity but were complaining very loudly on our way back to the hotel. We swung in to the nearest 'restaurant' we could find. That restaurant was Wendys :)
Tyler loves dipping. His favorite dips are Ketchup and Honey Mustard!
Another lunch. We ate at Whole Foods twice for lunch. The Whole Foods in Naples is HUGE! I LOVE it! There were so many hot food / cold premade food options.
It's pretty entertaining that this is yet another picture of us eating! Ben must like taking pictures of us eating :)
ketchup time!
Eating at the restaurant at the hotel we stayed at. the food was great, had many kid friendly options and good happy hour specials!
Chelsea enjoying dinner!
Now, starting the vacation over with my pictures!
This is at 5AM getting ready to drive to the airport. We plucked the kids out of bed and put them into their car seats. Both were really out of it on the drive the air port.
Chelsea pulling her very own suitcase through the airport. Unfortunately, we left it in Naples!!!! I was so mad at myself. We hid it in the closet because the kids were fighting over it. When I packed up our stuff I completely forgot about it so we left it behind :(
Our flight was delayed for about 45 minutes. time to get comphy!
On the plane!
After about five minutes of Tyler screaming at the top of his lungs in the back of the plane, I finally got him asleep. He stayed sleeping for about an hour.
Chelsea enjoying a Sprite on the plane!
Doesn't he look innocent?
Here he is causing mischief!
Yep, he busted the screen on the back of the chair. What a train wreck!
Waiting for our luggage. Tyler was overtired and NOT a happy camper.
We got all of our stuff loaded up ready to take off and then the van wouldn't start! SO, we had to move everything into a new van. What a pain in the @$$.
Someone was exhausted!
Ready to go swimming!
Time to go to the botanical gardens!
There was a really cool butterfly area in the children's garden of the botanical gardens
In the children's garden!
At the hotel pool!
Chelsea zonked out on the way to dinner one night
Selfie at the pool! our room was right next to the pool. SO - when the kiddos would go down for nap we could bring the monitor with us and relax by the pool for a few minutes.
Chelsea at dinner passed out.
My Rum Punch drink at the dinner. Yummy!
Still sleeping
Chelsea after dinner... so exhausted
Time to go to the beach! The front desk borrowed us towels, beach chairs AND beach toys!
What a beautiful day!
It's hard to tell in this picture, but the Florida humidity really made my hair frizz out and go crazy! Who knew I had such curly hair :)
Whole Foods in Naples. It is A HUGE store!
Time to visit the waterpark!
Dinner at the Chinese Restaurant connected to the hotel. Tyler (and my) favorite foods can be found here :)
After the kiddos went to bed one night, Ben and I were sitting by the pool having a couple beers. We saw this little bunny hopping around so I ran into our room and grabbed some apples and carrots to leave out for it. Hopefully he found them after we left!
We went to Old Naples the last morning we were there. We found this awesome ice cream place. They make all their own ice cream and even had a bunch of fresh tasting vegan options.
We spent a lot of time at the hotel pool. This was on the last day we were there.
Ben took the kiddos with him to fill up the rental van with gas. I got an entire half an hour to just sit, drink a beer and read in peace. It was wonderful!
I packed up our suitcases the night before we left. Tyler decided to crawl all over them and fell behind one.
Headed back to MN :(
I will hopefully get the rest of our Florida blogs up in the next few days. They will (hopefully) be in order of what we did and more detailed :-)
